YELLOW

Yellow was not a colour that I liked, its taken me a long time to allow it to occupy a lot of the surface of a painting, or even wear a splash of it. For me it was an uncomfortable colour, recently I have allowed it to spread into my life, offering a little light on maybe why I did not like it. This picture is acrylic and ink.

I´m a collector, anything and everything that I think may be useful for a piece of art, generally and eventually it will find its place somewhere but if it doesnt then I just like to aquaint myself with it before finally disposing of it. This picture represents a special place in my studio.

Paper Planes

Paper Planes.

When I was young I was fascinated by the paper planes others made, not being so very succesful at them myself. The sleek and fine ones that flew and the clumsy heavy ones that divebombed immediately. Normally they were always white made of scrap paper, some would decorate the wings with biro. This is how I would imagine they´d looked nowdays with all the coloured paper we have.

This was a small acrylic painting that I eventually scanned and changed a little.

Morning has Broken

The surprise of another new day, each dawning is a different experience.

This print is a mixture of drawings, photos and acrlic painting, scanned and manipulated on the computer. At this moment my arm is out of action so I am concentrating more on digital imagery, this picture is an illustration for a forthcoming book.

Prepared for the theme "Breath" This is a memory of a few years back when I spent 3 weeks in Austria at Christmas time, with 2 friends. We swam outside at night in a heated pool surrounded by snow, and then we danced at an outside party in the snow, it was fantastic the air so cold and fresh..it took your breath away!
